I often come across clients who insist that it’s the people in their lives that cause them to feel bad, down, or negative. They say,” If he or she would just be more positive, stop complaining, stop judging…. I would feel a lot better.”
They usually think that getting away from these people is the answer to their problems, but what if they’re family members, or coworkers? For some, that option isn’t realistic or even available.
Many of my clients believe they are empathic or very sensitive, and are destined to feel the emotions of others. I say hogwash! You’ve been sold the wrong bill of goods all these years. There’s no such thing as feeling the emotions of another person. You may intuitively know when someone is in pain, frustrated, feeling sad, and so on, but to feel that emotion in your body means something else and it’s something very important!
There is something about what that person said or did that is resonating with YOU. I learned this from my energy healing practice with hundreds of people over the years. If it wasn’t in your energy field already, it wouldn’t affect you. It may be that they remind you of the person you used to be, or maybe you act just like them sometimes and are subconsciously unaware.
